New posting from Bergen, in june

June is here and summer too, all tough summer is a over statement. The temperature is low and i just don't get the summer feeling.

But who am i to complain, in Africa (not all) they have to little rain while we get more then enough..

Enough about that, we where talking about summer and June. Some big things has been happening this month, i turned 40 and our princes become 1 year..

Some pictures is taken sins last posting and the the following pictures are some of them.
They are from in and around bergen city.

A litle update from Bergen

Hey folks, it's been a while sins I last posted something her. My excuse?? I don't have any, but time flies, work and family are really the only thing I use my time on.

In the last month, allot of things has happen. At work it's allot to do and I was offered a trainee job, I'm going to bee at a different office for some months. It's so nice to get more experience; it will give me a better chance when I apply for other positions at my work place.

On the private part, every thing goes just great. Our little princes are growing and the 14th of June she is One year. She is the most beautiful little thing and she gives us allot of joy, last mount she also start using her feet's for standing on, and she is now up and around every where.

Yes I've also taken allot of pictures, but most of them is family and princes. But of curs now & then I take others too.

And her is one fore Kyle & Svet in Russia. Our submarine navy force is in these days 100 year, and for that reason, submarines from other countries come visiting. This one is a Russian submarine. It isn’t that many years ago, this would be impossible.

Bergen pictures, hiking the mount Fløyen

Today we went for a long walk. We started by taking the Fløibanen up to mount Fløyen,  one of the 7 mountains surrounding Bergen. After taking allot of pictures we walked down and on the way we stopped for even more pictures....

Our home is down there some where.

And my workplace is down there :-)

As i say earlier, we used the Fløibanen up to the top, Fløibanen is a funicular who is taking tourists an the ones who is living in the hill side up and down. This wheel was change some years ago and was the main wheel for running the funicular.

 

We are now allmoust down in city again, and on the way there is a old firestation (Skansen Brannstasjon) overlooking the city.

 

 

Thise one i taken only for Richard, who has a thing about Vikings.

Blogging for my brother

Hi there.
I'm the brother of bskaad. I'm going try to help my brother with the posting.
It,s not much to sa about me, I'm 44 years old, have to kids, and live in the eastern part of Bergen. My job is in Norgesgruppen, wholesale for a dosen of stores i Norway.

I know that my brother is posting some of his picture in this blog, so I,m gonna do that to.

Winter storm in Bergen

Snow, snow and more snow

As you can see, the weather is not good

To day i had to take the bus, and i want to blame the snow..
Maybe should blame my self for not putting on the winter tire, but i choose to blame the snow. :-)

Autumn is her

It was just a matter of time.
The summer is leaving an we are closer to winter then ever before this year.
But the autumn also bring nice scenery, with beautiful colors and allot of motive for me to picture.

I'll start with a spring picture, this year.

 

And then the same place, this autumn.

Then i want to follow up with a picture from Bryggen i Bergen, taken this summer. For the ones who don't now, Bryggen (bergen Harbor) is on the  UNESCO list for World Cultural Heritage.

Then the last one, for now. I'll posted pictures from this fortress before, but it's so nice in the evening with beautiful lighting. It shows Bergenhus Festning (Fortress)

This last picture is actually going to be used in a historical book, who i to be published in spring 2009.
I got the signed contract back some days ago, and i send the picture to the publisher :-)

Last day of vacation...

It's time to get back to the normal life again. 

No more lazy days and sleeping into the afternoon..:-)

Before we leave this beautiful place, i want to show you some more of the scenic view at this place.

This one show a little place in a neighbor valley (Myklebust), about 150 people live her. they either running a farm or they work outside the valley.

The river from Myklebust runs down to Byrkjelo and on the way down there is tree power plants, making electricity from the river.

Lazy days (Summer vacation)

Not so much to tell.
We are enjoying the days, relaxing and eating :-)

Pictures? Not to many, it's a small place and I'll think i showed you most of the place all ready. But of curs i have some...

I've been doing allot of work on my vacation, my mother in law is saving the work for me. It's actually pretty nice, i don't get bored.. :-)
I've been fixing and moving the satellite disk, fixing some crashed computers, tighten up some furniture and one of the days I'm going to do the lawn..

But now over to the pictures.... I found some!

Eidfossen, a small but powerful waterfall and the building on the left side is a power plant.

(On the picture above, it's not rain. It's the shower from the waterfall that was making me and the camera wet)

Laksetrapp, because of the dam at the top of the waterfall, the salmon cant get up. To make it easier or possible for the salmon to continue they build a canal for the fish to get up (laksetrapp)

This is where the Trolls are living :-)
This day it was cloudy and the light in the forest got so mystic and i had no problem believing in the fairy tails about the Trolls

This church is in a nearby village called Reed, a small place with a church, pub/bar and grocery marked + camping..

THE TALL SHIPS’ RACES 2008 BERGEN

I'm going to miss it, the biggest thing in sailing events in Bergen, and I'm at vacation.

Walk in Bergen, the summer city

It's summer, the best one in many years. And we are enjoying it in every way possible.

To day we went for a walk in the sun, nothing special about that because we try to do that every day. And as usual i brought the camera and took allot of pictures.



First we want to the harbor and as you can see, there was not to many people outside. Strange you may think, but it's just the way it should be in the middle of the summer. People go on vacation and not so many left. More room for us and the tourists :-)

 

We kept on walking and came to the "#1 Torvallmenningen", it's the cities "living room" there is almost always some entertainment there and to day was no different.

#1 (Torgallmenningen is a wide and open ally, going trough the city and was made after one of the big city fires to protect the city against new fires)

As i told you earlier, not to many people in the city and one more reason could be that everything is closed on Sundays.

But this guy was working in the sun.

 

He just came from Oslo, where he had been for a while and doing his show. He was so amazed over the fact that every thing is closed on Sundays in Norway.

Norway cup or just vacation in Norway ?

For the ones who don't know.
Norway Cup is a football arrangement for young players, the kids and leaders coming from ca 50 country's just for football and fun..

Finally i come to posting 100. No big celebration but of curs it's nice to finely be there and looking forward to the next 100

I'm at a short vacation but I'll of curs have time for bloging.
The weather is perfect and just now, life couldn't be better. As usual we are at my mother in laws home and she i treating us so good :-)

Vent for a walk an found this wild flowers, i think they are poison but nice to look at.

And one more from the garden. I don't know the English word for it, but we call it a TRILLEBAAR maby (barrow)?

the days go on and I'm taking care of things to be don, spiking of that! i'm going to fire op the lawnmower and do the lawn, usually takes about 2-3 hours.
